Last weekend in the Life Insurance Council meeting, IRDA member R Kannan made a presentation on the financials of life companies. Kannan said that that there were two companies whose expenses ratios were coming under strain and the regulator was planning to have a one-to-one discussion with the management of the companies. The meeting was followed by a special occasion — a farewell function for Shikha Sharma, MD, ICICI Prudential, who was instrumental in the formation of the Life Council. It was an emotional moment for Ms Sharma who has a decade-long association with the industry.
