AGENTS GALORE
DESPITE life insurance companies going on a cost cutting spree after the financial crisis broke out in 2008, the number of agents has only grown. Both the private insurers and the state-owned Life Insurance Corporation have increased their agency force by equal number of around 20,000. However, with the new guidelines capping charges insurance companies will be able to pay far less commission to their agents. One outcome of this would be that there will be far fewer but more productive agents.
